Coverage Details

Your appliances and home electronics are covered up to a maximum of $50,000 per occurrence after a $500 deductible. You are also entitled to these additional coverages:

  • $3,000 for spoilage of perishable goods
  • $3,000 for pollution clean up
  • $3,000 for expediting expenses
  • $3,000 for “Go Green” energy-saving replacement parts or items
  • Additional living expenses in case the dwelling becomes uninhabitable

Breakdown coverage includes all mechanical, electrical, or pressure equipment, appliances, or systems covered for other risks in your CIG Homeowners and Farmowners policy. Home Appliance and Electronics Breakdown Coverage is insurance protection against mechanical, electrical or pressure system breakdown. This coverage is not a warranty. Appliances or electronics that no longer work or no longer work as they should, due to wear and tear, are not covered.
