As a property and casualty insurer, our efforts are focused on protecting and restoring communities from disaster. We have strong partnerships with the American Red Cross, Safe Kids Worldwide, Teddy Bears with Heart and Coastal Kids Home Care, as well as local food banks, fire and police departments throughout our footprint.
Our community giving spans beyond writing a check. We are proud to offer our employees a Paid Volunteer Time (PVT)benefit, as we know that engaging our employees in service-based programs results in a bigger impact in our communities. From stocking shelves at food banks to building homes for Habitat for Humanity, our employees are passionate about giving back and enjoy the opportunity to do so with their colleagues.
In 2017, CIG employees provided over 650 volunteer hours to their local communities.
Our humble roots started in Ventura, California when a group of farmers saw a need for protection from disastrous claims, especially fire. Over the years the Ventura County Mutual Fire Insurance Company grew, moved and changed names all the while maintaining a high quality of servitude to their clients and their community.
