Hosts Open House to Showcase Rancho Cucamonga Resident’s

Rebuilt Home Following a Devastating Fire

Friends and neighbors are invited Saturday, November 5, 2011

MONTEREY, Calif. (October 31, 2011) – Rancho Cucamonga resident Karen Foote will open her home to friends and neighbors on Saturday, November 5th, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m., as part of an open house hosted by Capital Insurance Group (CIG), whose ThinkTwice Coverage for Homeowners helped Foote rebuild following a devastating fire earlier this year.

Neighbors within a four block radius, as well as all area realtors, have been invited to tour the new home as part of the November 5th Open House.

Foote’s three-bedroom ranch-style home was completely engulfed in flames on the evening of January 29, 2011. The fire started in the clothes dryer located in the garage. Flames and smoke spread across the entire house and roof, destroying the home, all of the family’s belongings, and three cars parked in the garage and driveway.

Together with her local Insurance Advisor, Lawrence Craig, Habakkuk Insurance Agency, LLC, Foote will lead a walk-through of the entire home. Devastation shots taken immediately following the fire will be displayed, giving attendees an opportunity to see for themselves the remarkable rebuilding. CIG Claim’s Adjuster Phil Henry, who handled Foote’s claim, and contractor Don Moser, who completed all of the work on the rebuild, will also be in attendance.

“That’s the silver lining at the end of this tragedy,” CIG’s Phil Henry says. “Probably the only good thing about having a fire like this is that when it’s all said and done you have a brand new house to come back to.”

Thanks to Foote’s homeowners’ insurance policy – ThinkTwice Coverage for Homeowners from CIG – there was ample coverage not only to rebuild the home, but also to cover temporary living expenses for the seven months of reconstruction and to replace lost belongings. The updated home now includes an expanded kitchen, buffet counter, upgraded appliances, recessed lighting, fans in all the bedrooms, and an extended driveway.

Habakkuk Insurance Agency’s Lawrence Craig is thrilled to take part in the event commemorating Foote’s return to her home and praised CIG’s role in the process. “Phil Henry and the CIG claims office made my job so much easier because they went above and beyond the call of duty,” Craig says. “Karen has a new home and a new life. I have worked in the property and casualty business for 20 years and have worked for two other major insurance companies, but I have never experienced the level at which CIG handles claims. It was top-shelf all the way.”

For her part, Foote is enormously relieved to be moving back into her home and resuming life as normal. But she is also amazed at how smoothly the process went. “The thing that surprised me the most was just the ease of the whole thing,” she says. “There was never a fight or a battle or anything with regard to the insurance. Phil was so on top of things, and Lawrence stayed involved from beginning to end. I felt like they were advocating for me. I wouldn’t do anything differently with regard to my insurance – the experience really exceeded my expectations.”
