MONTEREY, Calif. (November 2, 2011) – Sabbe & Associates, Inc., located in Folsom, California, and Capital Insurance Group (CIG), the leading regional property and casualty insurer serving the Western U.S., teamed up to sponsor the October 14, 2011 scramble-format golf tournament at Empire Ranch Golf Club in Folsom, California. Sabbe & Associates has been an affiliate agency with CIG for 25 years. All proceeds from the golf tournament support Prevent Alcohol and Risk-Related Trauma in Youth (P.A.R.T.Y) in Sacramento-Placer-El Dorado Hills. The event attracted an estimated 70 golfers and raised nearly $15,000.
“Our company prides itself on insuring good drivers, and the education and risk-aversion skills P.A.R.T.Y. provides the pre-licensed youth in our community complements our goals as a company so well, we just have to be involved. Along with our affiliate partner CIG, we enjoyed the event and hope we helped to raise both awareness and money for this important community program,” said Fred Sabbe, president of Sabbe & Associates, Inc.
P.A.R.T.Y., a non-profit organization dedicated to generating awareness on the fatal and life-changing risks of distracted driving, teaches high school freshman and sophomore students before they get their driver’s licenses. Specifically, its mission is to educate youth on the dangers of texting, calling, alcohol, drugs, drowsiness, and other risky teenage behaviors.
Teen-driver crashes are the leading cause of death for our nation’s youth, with an overwhelming majority of these crashes being caused by inexperience or distractions. These factors, coupled with other risky teen behaviors, are the reason Sabbe & Associates, Inc. is so passionate about expanding this program to every high school student in their area. This two-year program has educated over 2,000 youths in the Sacramento-Placer-El Dorado Hills area.
“Sponsorship of local community events is an important corporate initiative at CIG. Our long history of supporting local charities and partnering with our local Independent Insurance Advisors provides us with a unique opportunity as a corporation to lend added value to local charity events,” said Peter Cazzolla, CEO, Capital Insurance Group.
