CIG Helps Residents Understand Risks of Ownership

Seminar shows why it pays to have enough coverage on your home and vehicles

LAS VEGAS, January 19, 2010 — CIG brought its safety and security team to Home Expo Las Vegas (January 15-17) in an effort to help homeowners learn how to shop for insurance and get the most for their money. Advisors from CIG Insurance Centers in Las Vegas and Henderson were on-hand for all three days of the show to field questions and explain the benefits of choosing CIG.

The CIG booth at Cashman Center featured a seminar on the “Risks of Ownership.” CIG agents helped area residents evaluate the financial considerations they ought to take into account in dealing with primary risk exposures: fire in the home, automobile accident, and injury lawsuit.

Expo attendees were surprised to learn that two out of three insured homeowners may lack sufficient funds to rebuild after a disaster. The average policy is underinsured by 23 percent. On the road, more than 12 percent of all Nevada motorists may be uninsured. The Insurance Research Council (IRC) reports one out of seven drivers are without auto insurance nationwide.

“We were so pleased to participate in Home Expo Las Vegas and help locals better understand their insurance needs,” said Daryl Morris, CIG Insurance Advisor. “Too often people find out when it’s too late that they don’t have enough insurance coverage to rebuild their home. Our CIG Think Twice coverage protects Nevada homeowners with enough money to actually get their home rebuilt after a fire or natural disaster, and that gives them the peace of mind they need.” See CIG Insurance Issues for examples of CIG clients rebuilding homes.

Attendees were glad to learn that CIG policy clients save up to 25 percent with discounts when they bundle their home and auto coverage. They were urged to get a free quote and find out just how much they can save on rates, in addition to getting superior protection.

Visitors to the booth received informational brochures and a measuring cup reinforcing the theme of “Does Your Insurance Measure Up?” They also had a chance to enter a Grand Prize raffle for a Roadside Safety Kit.

The Risks of Ownership seminar was co-sponsored by The Protector Network — which gives CIG policy clients a host of safety and security benefits worth hundreds of dollars more.
