Safety Event Visalia

Community Safety Saturday a Huge Success

The first-ever Community Safety Saturday, sponsored by Capital Insurance Group’s The Protector Network, was held on April 24 at the Carmel Plaza in Visalia, California. This family-oriented event, which focused on child automobile safety, drew parents and children from all around the community. The participants were treated to a day filled with valuable information, demonstrations, prize giveaways, and fun children’s activities.

“We had a wonderful turnout,” stated CIG Central Valley Insurance Advisor Mark Jennings, “and I was pleased we were able to provide this event to the community.”

Included in the event was California Highway Patrol’s Public Affairs Officer Scott Harris. He performed child safety restraint and booster seat demonstrations and provided life-saving instruction on their proper usage. A checkpoint was set up to examine and correctly install safety seats in participants’ cars. The CHP even exchanged some broken car seats for brand new ones.

To continue the safety theme, officers from the Visalia Police Department issued Child Safety ID Kits, which consisted of a photo ID card and a fingerprint kit. Angie de Alba, Visalia PD’s Crime Prevention Coordinator, estimated that more than 100 children received the kits.

“This was a great event,” said Alba. “We were able to give good information out about child safety, family safety, identity theft, and teen dating.”

And, as the event’s major sponsor, CIG Central Valley Insurance Advisors were on hand to provide safety information and introduce participants to the benefits of being insured through Capital Insurance Group and the safety and security benefits of The Protector Network.

“As an insurance advisor, one of the most rewarding experiences is to know our policy clients are safe and secure—well protected for those worst-case scenarios,” commented Scott Bosler of CIG Central Valley. “We would like nothing more than for everyone in our community to be safe and secure.”

In addition to face painting, local radio station Z104.9 FM broadcast live from the event to keep participants entertained and help in the prize giveaways for the children.

Sponsors and participants alike deemed this first Community Safety Saturday fun, informative, and a huge success. More Community Safety Saturdays are being planned for locations throughout California and Nevada. Keep an eye out for one near you.
